Course Description: This course will discuss how to engage families of students at your school in a culturally responsive fashion. This includes looking at internal and external bias and understanding how to engage families of different cultures and languages and creating a welcoming environment for all families.

Course Description: This session will go into detail in the process in how students are identified as an English Learners (EL) at the school level, requirements of notification, the process of screening for ELs (including WIDA and W-APT), the connection to the CDE Data Pipeline, and the steps of progression for language proficiency.

Course Description: This session will explore the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and the future of individuals that are under this status.  This course will discuss the law, guidance, and resources for DACA students, immigrant students, and other marginalized students.

Course Description: This course will discuss how to use assessments (formative) in order to gauge students' language proficiency and how to incorporate these assessments in classwork and in everyday activities to foster language growth and acquisition.
